When Is the Best Time to Visit Triund Trek?

Except for January and February, the Triund hike is open all year. The months of March to June are ideal for visiting Triund because of the pleasant weather and great sights. Except for the harsh winter months, the weather in Triund is mild and comfortable all year.

Difficulty Level of the Triund Trek

A hard ascent on the Triund hike was highlighted by rocks and pebbles.

Level of Difficulty: Easy

The trek includes gradual to steep ascents that even inexperienced hikers can complete. And, because the trip from Mcleodganj to Triund is not long, it is not particularly taxing. The first 5 kilometers of the Triund hike are easy and flat.

The Triund trek trail then becomes hilly and demands a strong hike. Because of the 22 steep turns along the road, this segment is often known as 22 curves.

However, if you travel during the winter, the journey becomes significantly more challenging owing to snow on the otherwise sturdy and well-defined trail.

Road to Triund

To go to Dharamshala – McLeod Ganj and then walk to Triund, you can use any of the following two routes:

Using Public Transportation

By Bus: The best way to get to Mcleod Ganj from Delhi is to take an overnight Volvo from HRTC or HPTDC. Other private operators provide nighttime buses between Delhi and Dharamshala. Nonetheless, I will favor HRTC and HPTDC owing to the dependability of their services.

The drive from Delhi to Dharamshala will take around 11-12 hours. The bus fare from Delhi to Dharamshala ranges from Rs 750 to Rs 1500, depending on the type of vehicle.

By rail: Traveling by train is the second and cheapest alternative, but it is the most time-consuming. One may take a train to Pathankot, which takes around two hours.

There are several buses or shared local jeeps that travel every one or two hours from Pathankot to Dharamshala and cost roughly Rs 150. The distance between Dharamshala and Mcleod Ganj is around 10-12 kilometers, with numerous private and government vehicles.

By Air: Flights to Dharamshala (Gaggal Airport or Kangra Airport) are also accessible, and you may finally reach Mcleod Ganj by renting a private cab.
